C-11-330 Orders Management: Order Escalation to Clinical Supervisor

🎯 PURPOSE

Identifies expected steps to be completed by Medical Records Specialist if orders are received in Mosai that require escalation to the Clinical Supervisor for additional follow-up.

🔄 PROCESS

1. When the Medical Records Specialists reviews received orders, they review the orders for any markings or notations from the Physician/Non-Physician Practitioner to see whether the order requires escalation. Here are some examples of provider notations: 

   

   
   

   

   
   

   

2. If any marking or notation is found, the order must be escalated to the branch Clinical Supervisor as described in following steps.  
   • E-mail a copy of the order to the appropriate Clinical Supervisor for follow up. Use one of the templates below, selecting one according to whether the attached order is signed or unsigned.
   • Attach the order to the medical record if appropriate (if the order includes valid signature and meets all other required criteria).

3. Create an ORDER FOLLOW-UP coordination note to document your escalation to the Clinical Supervisor.

   

4. In the Note Details, use this following template, adding the specific order number:
